Un estudio sobre pacientes chinos con diabetes tipo 2 reveló que los niveles elevados de proteína C-reactiva (CRP por sus siglas en inglés) y de la presión arterial (BP por sus siglas en inglés) aumentaron significativamente el riesgo de mortalidad. Durante siete años, los pacientes con CRP elevada e hipertensión presentaron las tasas de mortalidad más altas. Los hallazgos destacan la CRP y la BP como factores clave de riesgo de mortalidad, lo que sugiere que las intervenciones para reducir ambas podrían mejorar los resultados. De acuerdo con los autores, este estudio a gran escala proporciona información crucial para el manejo de la diabetes y la formulación de estrategias de salud pública.
