Resumen: Un nuevo informe basado en datos publicados en el Atlas 2023 de la “World Obesity Federation”, advierte que más de 4.000 millones de personas, o el 51 % de la población mundial, tendrán sobrepeso u obesidad para 2035.

La obesidad infantil está aumentando rápidamente y los factores sociales, ambientales y biológicos deben abordarse con urgencia. El costo de las condiciones de salud relacionadas con la obesidad podría llegar a más de $4 billones anuales para el 2035. Se espera que los países de ingresos bajos y medianos en Asia y África tengan los mayores aumentos en la obesidad. El informe enfatiza la necesidad de una acción inmediata por parte de los políticos para prevenir esta alarmante tendencia.
